The Caps came into Wednesday night’s matchup determined to get their first victory in two weeks. Despite a strong start and a first period goal by Brooks Laich, Washington fell in overtime 3-2.
The Capitals faced off against the Avalanche in front out a sellout crowd in the nation’s capital on Saturday night. Washington put forth a stellar effort but ultimately fell short, losing 3-2. Mike Knuble and Matt Hendricks scored for the Caps while Kevin Shattenkirk, Ryan Wilson and Paul Stastny tallied for Colorado.
