Capitals trade for heavyweight fighter D.J. King
The Washington Capitals have traded for Blues Left Winger D.J. King. St. Louis will receive prospect Stefan Della Rovere in return. The news was first reported by Andy Strickland on Twitter and has since been confirmed by the Capitals.
King, a 26 year-old Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan native, has played in 101 NHL games since making his debut on October 5, 2006. Known as a heavyweight enforcer, King has registered just 9 points in his NHL career. He played only 13 NHL games the last 2 seasons after suffering a dislocated shoulder in October 2008 and a broken finger in a fight against Krys Barch of the Dallas Stars in October 2009.
