No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you. The Caps did indeed wear these pretty awful — in my opinion — jerseys for warm-ups. I never really got the huge deal the professional sports league make out of St. Patrick’s day. Oh well.

President Barack Obama welcomed the Chicago Blackhawks to the White House on Friday to celebrate theirĀ 2010 Stanley Cup championship. Later, Washington Capitals defenseman Mike Green and members of the ‘Hawks joined Michelle Obama to encourage kids to get fit as part of the First Lady’s “Let’s Move” campaign. The Caps wore camouflage jerseys during warmups to honor the U.S. Armed Forces onĀ Salute to the Military Night. They later beat the Blues 3-2.

It’s been awhile, eh? Coming off a long road trip, the Caps took on the Rangers Friday night and it um, didn’t go so well. But hey, the pictures were taken before the game so should be able to continue reading without sobbing uncontrollably.

Washington faced-off against their arch-rival Pittsburgh Penguins on Super Bowl Sunday, taking the game, 3-0.

The Capitals took a 2-0 lead on Montreal but couldn’t put them away as the Canadiens came back to defeat Washington, 3-2, in a shootout. Before the game the Caps honored former player Dino Ciccarelli who was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame last November.
